Crispy Chilli Tofu

Block of firm tofu

Cornflour

200ml orange juice

1/4 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup sweet chilli sauce

1 tbsp hot sauce

1 tbsp lemon juice

Method:

  • Drain and press the tofu before cutting it into fingers.

  • Sprinkle the tofu fingers with cornflour on each side, then add to a pan with a generous amount of hot oil.

  • Cook just until the exterior of the tofu fingers is crispy, the remove from the pan and drain the remaining oil.

  • To make the sauce, add the orange juice to the pan and allow it to simmer.

  • Add in the rest of the ingredients for the sauce and heat, stirring constantly, until thick.

  • Drop in the crispy tofu fingers and stir to coat.

  • Serve alone, over rice, or between bread/buns for a BBQ ribs dupe.
